Deckard was the fifth addition to the Gang. Actually we had looked at several sighthound breeds through the years. After lure coursing with the pointing dogs, we once again dusted off the notebook and examined our situation and ability to maintain a long-legged runner. The decision was a resounding, "Yep! Now's the time."
We were introduced to Katie Belz, AKC Breeder of Merit and owner of Kamar Ibizians. After lengthy discussion, we were told that Katie was in fact planning an upcoming breeding. And here we are - our first sight hound addition!

Deckard was the 2014 #4 National Owner Handler Series Ibizan Hound. At the 2014 AKC Eukanuba National Championships, he was selected as the Best of Opposite Sex NOHS Ibizan Hound on December 12, 2014 and on the following day won a Judge's 1st Award of Excellence.
Deckard won his first AKC Field Trial Best In Field May 27th, 2013 at Bouchart Farms, Fairburn GA. At the same Field Trial the following year, Deckard won his second Best in Field and finishing both his AKC & ASFA Field Championships! (May 23-25, 2014).
On July 7, 2020 Deckard inexplicably began collapsing in his rear legs. It was determined that he had suffered a fibrocartilagenous embolism (FCE), sometimes called a spinal stroke, over his T12-L1area. While he has largely recovered most of his mobility this ended his show and performance career. He does, however, continue duties as Prime Hound of the Muddy Paws Gang.
